This site is a gathering place and simple way to access the online presence of Sojourn Theatre's BUILT, a performance/participation/civic dialogue project which recently completed Phase One in Evanston, Illinois & Chicago (in partnership with Northwestern Uiversity), completed Phase Two in Hartford, CT (site-specific performances at City Hall and the State Capitol in partnership with HartBeat Ensemble) and will soon begin Summer work on the final phase in Portland, Oregon as a main offering of Portland Institute of Contemporary Art's 2008 Time-Based Art Festival.
The project is an investigation of community, place, civic vision, housing, and development. It centers around two major questions, both in relation to the fact that our nation will grow by 100 million people in the next 30-40 years:
Where will we live?
and
Who are you responsible for?
